Capital of the JuraLons le Saulnier City of water
Lons-Le-Saunier is a dynamic and pleasant City, but also the birthplace of many celebrities, including Rouget-de-Lisle, author of the Marseillaise. The first inhabitants of the City settled around the Puits Salé and the Lédonia spring. They were quick to take advantage of the manna offered to them: a spring of water with constant salinity that runs right through the ground. As early as 1892, a spa complex was built in the heart of a 7-hectare park, establishing the City's spa vocation.
