Le Parc de Courzieu

4 fascinating encounters: wolves, raptors, owls and snails.

A all day disconnected with Arctic wolves, European wolves, marmots and snails… Meet and observe them, watch them during their meals so to know them better and protect them!

Climb into the forest and walk the white wolf hill (45 minutes) to discover the Arctic wolf pack. You can observe them from the panoramic esplanade or the vision tunnel. They are at your fingertips!

Another 20-minute walk takes you to the Valley of the Grey Wolves. Labyrinth, hangover, slide and pedagogy around the wolf are there to amuse you and surprise you!

Not far away, the snail farm reveals its secrets... You think you know it, and yet…!

And if you continue your discovery by taking the Marmot Trail, you will be able to familiarize yourself with this exciting animal while playing.

At 2pm and 4pm, don’t miss the great flight of the birds of prey! Eagles, hawks, kites, vultures, owls,… perform magnificent aerial ballets above your head, and take you into their fascinating universe!

And before you leave the Park, what about exploring the forest with wooden games? With the 3 esplanades, your children (from 3 years) will be offered a wonderful playground! Even the little ones also find a specific area for them to enjoy themselves serenely with their parents!

The Tourette Convent: listed as a historical monument since 1979, and since 2016, it is part of the list of 17 sites designed by Le Corbusier and considered representative of his built work, recognized as World Heritage by UNESCO. Built in the middle of the 20th century, the convent quickly became an emblematic achievement of modern architecture. It attracts visitors from all over the world.

The mining museum: the copper and iron pyrite mines ceased their secular activities in 1972 and former miners created, ten years later, a mining museum which offers a reconstruction of galleries and mining sites, presenting the history of mining from the 15th century to the 20th century.

The Glay quarries: this former limestone extraction site of a beautiful golden color characteristic of South Beaujolais, supplied the entire Lyon region with building materials from the 15th to the middle of the 20th century.
