A beautiful, lush area at the foot of the Southern Vosges Mountains, Lac du Malsaucy is the perfect place for relaxation and a total change of scene. A popular venue for walking, swimming and fishing, it is also a remarkable natural attraction for its flora and fauna. The conservation area has 49 protected animal species and 8 protected plant species. A bird observatory enables visitors to watch some of the thousand migratory birds which stop over here on their journey between continents. Their songs and beauty are amazing ! Willow hedges, plantations of trees and wooden furniture blend in totally with the landscape. Every year the site is enhanced and new facilities are added.
The lake changes with the rhythm of the seasons, but each time of year has its own particular charm. In summer there are 4,000m² of beaches to enjoy and lifeguards are present in July and August. Young children can enjoy the play park while older ones take part in activities at the water sport centre and outdoor leisure centre, including stand-up paddle-boarding, kayaking, rowing, windsurfing, rock climbing, orienteering, archery, etc.
Beside Lac du Malsaucy, the Maison Départementale de l’Environnement is a visitor centre which holds exhibitions and innovative events to encourage the development of best practice for the future. It organizes nature discovery walks, exhibitions, stories and encounters for all ages.
The Festival des Eurockéennes de Belfort is an international, harmonious, open-air festival which takes place over 4 days every year in early July beside Lac du Malsaucy ! The lake is never at rest ! It is well worth visiting at any time of year to see the different seasonal colours, walk along its footpaths or go mountain biking. Malsaucy is a place where there is always something happening … and also a place for rest and relaxation !
