Treat yourself to a stay in the countryside at the heart of the Ballons des Vosges regional nature park, and go on a hiking or cycling excursion to the Ballon d'Alsace. You'll enjoy the Lac de Malsaucy, the lakes of Véronne and Forges, as you discover a preserved natural habitat. You can spend the afternoon on the sandy beaches, play beach-volley or a round of pétanque (French bowls). You can also cycle along the Coulée Verte or the Eurovélo 6, which crosses the whole of the Territoire de Belfort.

The Belfort Gap, also referred to as the Burgundian or Alsatian Gap, is home to many historic military constructions. For a long time, this part of the world was an area of great conflict between France and Germany, and one can visit the remains of a defensive complex, including the forts of Giromagny and Salbert.

In Belfort itself, you can visit the old town and the defensive works carried out by Vauban, which are today home to the Lion de Belfort, a 20 metre long monument. In summer, Belfort pulses to the beat of rock music during the Eurockéennes festival, which presents bands and artists from all over the world.
