Biotropica a tropical forest
Biotropica, the largest zoological glasshouse in France, is a definite change of scenery !
Biotropica : a tropical forest in Normandy !
Come and enjoy a unique experience for all the family and see lots of animals both indoors and outdoors. New additions frequently arrive at the zoo and our team are on hand to make visitors aware of the issues concerning plant and animal conservation.
The temperature in the 6,000m² glasshouse is a constant 26°C all year round ! It is home to some surprising creatures including lorikeets (which you can feed at feeding time), iguanas, Mississippi alligators, monkeys, piranas, giant fish and dragons (yes, they really do exist !).
Outdoors in the 10-hectare park there are pelicans, kangaroos, cheetahs, red pandas, otters, penguins and lots more. Children love stroking the baby kids at the mini farm and discovering mangalica furry pigs !
The outdoor activity centre at Trois Lacs

After your visit, or maybe another time, enjoy an outing to Trois Lacs outdoor activity centre at Léry Poses, a vast green space just an hour from Paris and half an hour from Rouen. Walk around the huge lakes, relax under shady trees, play volleyball next to the sandy beach.
There are two man-made lakes here : Mesnil and Deux Amants. The latter offers a wide range of water sports like cable skiing, canoeing, catamaran sailing and standup paddle-boarding. There is also an 18-hole golf course, crazy golf, pétanque alleys, table tennis and picnic areas.
« A little piece of advice to make the most of your visit : go to the Animal Park as soon as it opens as the glasshouse is less crowded in the morning. There are lots of food outlets (indoor and outdoor) for a delicious lunch break before visiting the outdoor zoo ! In fine weather, you can round off your day beside Lac des Deux Amants lake, just opposite. My 3-year old son especially loved watching the alligators and giant fish while my 7-year old daughter adored the kids and pony. As for me, my favourite was the tortoises which have been rescued by the Animal Park… you can even adopt one, if you wish !»
