Gîte de Chabanne

Cet avis nous semble bien sévère au regard de la dernière visite du gîte récemment effectuée. Aucun doute possible sur l'engagement des propriétaires à maintenir le niveau de qualité initial.

We were very surprised and we did not understand most of the criticisms regarding James' experience. We feel that the overall comments are unwarranted. After the initial check-in, showing James and his companion all amenities, we visited them each day for the first 4 days of their stay. Nothing was requested and everything seemed to be perfect. James' evaluation gives a faulty impression about the quality of the premises and services provided at the Gîte de Chabanne.
We tried unsuccessfully to contact James and left messages to obtain some explanations. Why stating “we went out and purchased our own?” if all the linens and the sheets we provided were in place on the beds upon departure ? Why did they not ask about linens and towels when we visited them if those provided were not satisfactory? We have used a cleaning private company for many years. They did a thorough cleaning the morning of arrival. James asked if the Gîte could be cleaned one more time during their 11 day stay, stating he would be happy to pay for it. This was done 5 days later at no additional cost. When the cleaning crew came nothing was mentioned about the linens, the cleanliness, the pool, etc. The Gîte de Chabanne is a 4 star vacation home and we make constant effortsto keep it to the highest standards. Investments to refresh, repair and update decoration are made each year at the end of the season. Last February we completely redid the bathroom on the first floor. This November we plan to replace the kitchen counter tops and repaint some of the rooms. However, we don't provide daily maintenance, as you would expect in a hotel.
It has been exceptional that evaluations from renters are below 5 stars. We strongly regret that we failed to satisfy James and his companion.
