Idealmente situada en los límites de los departamentos de Manche y Calvados, esta extraordinaria casa en un terreno arbolado es una visita obligada. Bayeux está a 20 minutos de la casa rural y las playas del desembarco del Día D están cerca: Playa de Omaha a 25 min, Pointe du Hoc o Arromanches a 30 min, Playa de Utah a 35 min.

Geoffroy y Min-Ah están encantados de recibirle en esta tranquila aldea situada en los lindes del Bosque Nacional de Cerisy. En la esquina de la propiedad, han renovado una bonita casa de piedra que da a la calle con vistas a preservar este patrimonio. A 200 metros de la abadía de San Vigor, declarada Monumento Histórico. El entramado de madera y la magnífica escalera antigua con peldaños imperfectos añaden un toque de autenticidad a esta casa. La parte trasera de la casa se abre directamente al sombreado parque de la propiedad. Bajo la protección del cedro azul gigante, podrá disfrutar del increíble jardín de invierno a la hora del café. Los niños disfrutarán de las instalaciones compartidas (bicicletas, Cabaña en el árbol, cama elástica, etc.) e incluso del campo de fútbol municipal junto a la casa (Tenis y pista polideportiva a 200 m). La gran habitación abuhardillada ofrece una preciosa vista de la torre linterna de la abadía.

Liz B Fabulous Gite!
We had an absolutely lovely stay at Le Clos St Jo. We had a very warm welcome from Geoffroy who showed us around and speaks very good English. The Gite was very clean and comfortable. It is beautifully decorated and we had everything that we needed. We immediately felt at home and it was a bonus to be able to borrow bikes to cycle to the (excellent) village boulangerie. We found the village bar to be friendly but, beware, they are not serving food currently. We had a great meal in the local creperie - it's tiny and we needed to book. The Gite in a great spot for visiting the surrounding area particularly the Abbey, D-day landing beaches and Bayeux. Thank you so much Geoffroy and Minah for a lovely holiday!

CELINE UN VRAI HAVRE DE PAIX
Lors de notre séjour au Clos St Jo, nous avons eu le plaisir de découvrir un véritable havre de paix. Un grand merci à Geoffroy et Min-Ah L pour leur accueil chaleureux. Le gîte est impeccablement propre, très bien équipé, et idéalement situé pour explorer les plages du Débarquement. Le village, quant à lui, est charmant et animé par des commerçants particulièrement accueillants.

Steven S Larger than it looks...cosy enough to offer a hug
Geoffroy and Minh-Ah were on hand to welcome us. Communication on our updated arrival was swift. They are a lovely couple and Geoffroy, despite his assertions otherwise, speaks excellent English. We actually spent a wonderful last night there engaging on a wide range of topics and interests in a very laid back session.
Everything was spotless and very neat. The kitchen well equipped and the beds were comfortable. There is reserved parking right outside the door. You have use of the very large garden which is screened from the main house. The accommodation is sympathetically restored and feels modern without detracting from it's heritage which is not always guaranteed. As per the title, it is large yet actually feels really cosy.
The area is pretty quiet. Indeed, at night, I would often stand outside the front door to bask in the sheer inky blackness and the world literally standing still. It is a hard concept to put into words but the complete lack of light pollution and the pure calm and serenity from background noises and motion as the world goes about it's business is mesmerising. Try it when you get there...just stand outside the front door to absorb it. Your breathing slows, your senses heighten, your blood pressure drops. Magical.
As for the location, it provides a great base to explore the D Day beaches which are 30-35 minutes away. Bayeaux about 20 minutes. Mont St. Michel or Falaise about an hour so quite central.There is a lovely patisserie in the village about 4 minutes walk away.
Overall, I highly recommend Le Clos St. Jo and we would return.

Duko - Belgium Beautiful restored cottage with all comfort
Very beautiful, authentic restored cottage, with old beams. 2 en suite bedrooms. Fully equipped. Quiet. Just steps from the Abbaye. I made walks through the fields just leaving the cottage. Smooth wifi. Splendid.
