This guest house is a former convent that has been altered by time and its various uses: school, fruit and vegetable warehouse... After 3 years of restoration work, it has been totally restored by its owners under the watchful eye of the Architectes des Bâtiments de France and the Fondation du Patrimoine, saving it from ruin and restoring it to its former charm.
In the charming village of Barbentane, at the foot of the Montagnette massif with its walks and the Saint Michel de Frigolet abbey, come and experience the heart of Provence!
Between Avignon, the Alpilles Natural Park and its charming villages (Saint Rémy de Provence, les Baux, Eygalières, Maussanes les Alpilles...), Arles and Uzès, Le Couvent de Barbentane welcomes you for a restful, discovering, sporting, cultural, heritage or gastronomic stay!
The house features a landscaped Mediterranean garden, a 12x4 saltwater swimming pool open from 8am to 10pm, a large terrace and a summer kitchen in the shade of the pergola.
On the second floor, access via a beautiful stone spiral staircase:
- Entrance hall
- La Chambre des Observantins: double room with twin 90x200 beds, dressing area, separate toilet and bathroom with walk-in shower and heated towel rail.
- La Montagnette: family room with entrance hall leading to a double bedroom with a 180x200 double bed and wardrobe, a children's double bedroom with twin 90x190 beds and wardrobe, a bathroom with walk-in shower, double washbasin and heated towel rail, and a separate toilet.
Breakfast, with local and seasonal products, can be served on the terrace, in the cloister or inside the house.
Private parking on the property.
On request at least 48 hours in advance:
- transfer to Avignon TGV station (10 mn) or Avignon center (20 mn)
- baby equipment
- packed lunch for excursions

IO Traumlocation in der Provence
Le Covent de Barbentanne ist eine absolute Traumlocation und ein toller Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge um Avignon. Das Haus und der Garten mit Pool sind wunderschön und geschmackvoll gestaltet und die Gastgeber sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Wir können jedem, der Spaß an Design und einem ruhigen Ort hat, den Aufenthalt nur ans Herz legen. Auch unsere beiden Jungs waren begeistert. Wir möchten unbedingt wiederkommen.

Bertoche Magnifique chambre d'hôtes
Accueil très sympathique dans ce lieu magnifiquement rénové. Literie très confortable, piscine superbe, petit déjeuner copieux. Très calme et peu éloigné d'Avignon.

Stéphane Superbe séjour
Nous cherchions un lieu d'exception pour nous retrouver en famille et notre séjour au couvent de Barbentane a été à la hauteur de nos espoirs !
M et Mme F. ont été aux petits soins pour nous tout au long de notre séjour, s'assurant de notre confort et nous donnant beaucoup de conseils et d'informations sur le couvent, Barbentane et ses environs.
La rénovation du couvent est incroyable. Les chambres sont un mélange réussi entre l'histoire du lieu et la modernité des salles de bain. Elles sont très confortables, spacieuses et calmes.
Le gite bénéficie d'un superbe jardin et d'une magnifique piscine qui a fait la joie de ma fille tout au long du séjour.
Les petits déjeuners, pris sous la pergola au bord de la piscine, ont été très bons et copieux : viennoiseries dont une spécialité locale les tirettes, crêpes, délicieuses salades de fruits locaux, confitures maison etc... Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les repas du soir, aussi bien grâce aux très bons plats qu'à la très agréable compagnie de M et Mme F et leur fille.
Le village de Barbentane est idéalement situé avec énormément de sites touristiques à proximité.
Merci encore à M et Mme F. pour ce magnifique séjour. Nous recommandons fortement le couvent de Barbentane.

Bernd Acceuil chaleureux dans une espace tres agreable
Super combinaison d‘elements modernes (salle de bain, piscine et jardin) avec l‘ancien couvent. Tres belle chambre (montagnette) pour occupation de 3 a 4 personnes. Acceuil chaleureux, petit-dejeuner avec des specialites faites maison, et une tres gouteuse table d‘hote dans une ambiance aimable. Beaucoup de sites d‘interet a proximite.

Romar Lovely property, really enjoyable stay.
Really comfortable, clean and unique property with a beautiful pool and outside area for relaxation. Our room was large, with a comfortable bed and a very modern and well equipped en-suite. Breakfast was extensive with quality offerings that included cold meats, cheeses, pastries, fresh fruit and fruit salad and of course tea, coffee and juices. Oliver and Sophie are wonderful and warm hosts who work very hard to ensure guests enjoy a stay in their home.
