Facing the mounts of Cantal, the biggest european volcano, the Cézallier plateau allures its visitors who will discover it by foot, by bike or even by rail bike.
It looks like Mongolia
The Cézallier is a volcanic plateau between the mounts of Cantal and the Sancy-massif. A part is situated in the Puy-de-Dôme. The Cantal part extends from Chanterelle to Allanche. The Cézallier is also compared to Mongolia because of the steppes as your eyes can see.
This wide area is a mountain pasture land where cow herds can stay from may to october. Farmers bring their cows to graze on pasture of the Cézallier.
To keep the ancestral practices, Allanche, the capital of summer pastures, welcomes every year in May a festivak about mountain pasture.
This cultural festival receives many cow herds in the street to show them to visitors who come almost everywhere in France. Local products are tasted in the market which takes place during the celebration.
