Welcome to Gîte de Stricou! Ideally located in the heart of the Malepère Massif, between Toulouse and Carcassonne, you'll enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay in a natural environment.

Here, you’ll explore the 50-hectare estate of vineyards and woods and walk part of the Way of St. James. Just a few kilometers from the village of Montréal, which overlooks the Aude plain and the Canal du Midi—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—which you can explore on foot or by bike. From the holiday cottage, you can set out to discover the cultural and culinary treasures of the Aude department (the village of Fanjeaux, the Cathar castles of Saissac and Lastours, the “village of books” Montolieu, and the abbeys of Saint-Papoul and Saint-Hilaire). Just a few kilometers away, you’ll find yourself in Ariège at the famous Market in Mirepoix, or beneath the ramparts of the Cité de Carcassonne, just 25 minutes away. Upon request, the owners can recommend great spots to taste local wines.


On-site, you can enjoy the garden and park shared with the owners, as well as the pétanque court for fun games of pétanque, with a breathtaking view of the Pyrenees mountain range. From May 1 to October 30, you can cool off in the owners’ pool (6 x 12 m, depth ranging from 1.20 to 2.50 m), which is open from mid-May to late September depending on the weather, complete with sun loungers and a pool house featuring a shower and restroom. A gaming room​ is also available, featuring ping-pong tables, foosball, and more.

The holiday cottage features the following on the ground floor:

_a fully equipped kitchen, opening onto the living area with a TV and a wood-pellet stove.
_a private terrace with patio furniture and a plancha grill.
_a separate restroom.
_a laundry room with a washer and dryer.
_2 bedrooms with 2 160 beds each, each with its own bathroom.

Upstairs:

_a bedroom with two 90-cm beds (which can be joined upon request), air-conditioned.
_a bedroom with one 160-cm bed, air-conditioned, and its own private bathroom with toilet.
