The wow effect begins in front of the avenue of hornbeams that leads to the completely enclosed property. You'll then be seduced by the majestic trees in the garden, the south-facing main building and the luminous upstairs living room overlooking the garden. Audrey and Thierry have hunted out the objects, paintings and lamps to take you on a journey from the 1930s to more contemporary times.
The gîte is adjoining another gîte, with independent access and its own private courtyard. The owners' house is at the rear of the gîte.
Entrance to summer kitchen with fridge, sink and microwave. Separate WC and access to shared laundry room with private washing machine and tumble dryer shared with the other Holiday cottage.
Upstairs: living room with fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area. 1 bedroom with 3 beds 90x200 (2 of which can be twinned to form 1 bed 180x200) with private bathroom and WC. 1 further bedroom with 2 beds 90x200 (which can be twinned into 1 bed 180x200) and en-suite shower room. Separate WC.
Wifi with fiber.
Baby equipment on request: cot, bath and high chair.
Outside: 7-hectare walled garden, heated Piscine (11.3m x 3.8m) open 01/06 to 30/09, 10am to 9pm, shared with the other Holiday cottage. Private 130m² courtyard, garden furniture, brazier, shared table tennis, parking. Visit to the Spirulina farm on site. Possibility of renting the 2nd Holiday cottage for 15 people (Ref: 16G50543).
Regular cleaning service available. Non-smoking Holiday cottage - Approved Gîte Panda in 2025.

J&VK Excellent visit to La Petite Salamandre
The owners were perfect hosts, informative and available if needed. They thoughtfully provided delicious bread, butter and milk in addition to the excellent welcome pack, because we arrived late on a Sunday.
Everything about the gîte exceeded our expectations. It had well designed and furnished spacious rooms with interesting art work, and provided a calm, elegant environment.
Thank you to our hosts for showing us the spiruline production facility. Their knowledge, skill and commitment was exciting to see. We look forward to being able to buy Les Salamandres spiruline in the UK. Our experiments with recipes including their product will continue.
We hope to return with our family to enjoy the grounds, table tennis and heated pool. But how will we persuade the grand-children to leave La Musee de la Bande Dessinee in Angoulême?Notes for visitors: best to bring a headtorch if you want to read in bed.

Spirolina Spirolina und noch viel mehr ..,
Tolles Haus mit schönem Pool auf großzügigem Parkgrundstück. Schon die Allee der Zufahrt ist ein Erlebnis! Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen (sogar auf deutsch) und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, auch unser Hund war sehr zufrieden.

France 2024 Le petite salsmandre
What a trip !! To arrive at La Salamandre is like arriving into a fairy tale . The long tree lined drive brings u up to meet the warm welcome from Thierry and Audrey , such nice people ! . We stayed in La petite salamander and it is true comfort , elegance , so quiet , spotless clean , and with everything u need for a relaxing refreshing holiday . So peaceful. Plenty seating in shade and sun around a Gorgeous pool and garden . Thierry and Audrey are available always but let u have your privacy . It is very close to beautiful city of anguoleme , 20 mins, village 3mins away , bakery and town 10 mins away with all you need , also beautiful place for lunch by river . We truly enjoyed our stay and thank you both for your help and conversation and kindness . We just wish our French was as good as your English. Until we meet again , Kay Michael and Rhian.

Vous accédez à la propriété par une splendide allée ombragée donnant sur de belles bâtisses. Les lieux ont énormément de charme et les arbres majestueux qui bordent la piscine vous incitent au farniente. Côté pratique, la literie est de bonne qualité, ce qui est à souligner. Thierry et Audrey sont très accueillants, il est particulièrement agréable d'échanger avec eux et de découvrir grâce à eux la culture de spiruline. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et nous les en remercions.
