Enjoy a stay in this lovely linen-themed house located in a quiet village 15 minutes from Caen. It features large, bright living rooms and a sunny terrace. The owners will be happy to show you around their flax production business (visit the farm 200 m away). You'll appreciate the linen provided, and the enclosed, secure grounds. For swimming, the Dunéo aquatic center is 10 minutes away and Cabourg beach 30 minutes. 2 steps from the house: tennis court, basketball hoop and public bowling green with free access.
Detached house with private grounds. The first floor comprises a dining room with fitted kitchen, a large living room with sofa, armchairs and TV, a toilet with washbasin and a bedroom (2 steps from the entrance) with 2 twin beds 90x200cm. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms (1 with 1 double bed 160x200cm and 1 with 1 double bed 140x190cm), shower room with large walk-in shower and toilet. Small annex with washing machine. Possibility to store bicycles. Terrace with garden furniture, barbecue and deckchairs. Walled grounds with gate and small lawn area. Fiber-optic Internet connection.

What a place to stay!
5/5We as an adult family stayed for a week in the extraordinary heat of early September. 'Fibre de lin' is set in the very tranquil hamlet of le Castelet within easy reach of Caen. The gite itself is a very old stone construction and a typical building of the area, which has been modernised to a high standard yet retaining a lot of its rural charm. Everything is there to enable a most comfortable stay, with plenty of space and the linen sheets provided are a delight to sleep in! There is ample parking and a secluded terrace sun trap that acts as an additional room, constantly used.
The gite acts as a great base for exploring the coast (like chic and belle epoque Cabourg) and the the linked history of Calvados.Mathilde (& Benoit) are a really nice and approachable couple who will always help in case of need. Take advantage of the visit to their farm as the presentation and tour afterwards is really interesting and a super insight into how flax turns into linen and linen derivatives; we learned an awful lot on something we don't see a lot of in the UK.
We had a great stay, so thank you Mathilde & Benoit (and maybe a bientot).
