Beauce is no longer the traditional granary of France but a land marked by the diversification of crops: cereal, industrial, aromatic, medicinal and market gardening. You will be surprised by the variety of colors in the landscapes, over the seasons with all the shades of green, brown, enlivened by the different yellows of rapeseed, ripe cereals and sunflowers, not to mention the blue shades of linen and lavender...
This territory has its interpretation centre: the Maison de la Beauce, with its program of exhibitions and farm visits. Stop at its local products shop, an excellent introduction to discovering our local producers, very numerous and whose shops are also worth visiting!
The limestone subsoil gives its color to the old buildings where the arrangement of the limestone blocks recalls that of the cathedral of Chartres which can be seen from afar in the plain!
The isolated farms in the middle of the crops have a unique architecture to discover by renting a gîte or a guest room: the old buildings all open onto a square courtyard, with a gate or a more or less fortified porch.
The lofts of the past have also stood the test of time! Try it out: climb into a windmill whose wings turn in the wind, like that of Frouville-Pensier and Bouville. Loigny-la-Bataille with its 1870 war museum allows you to practice remembrance tourism.

By car: You can approach La Beauce from two motorway exits: Châteaudun on the Océane, the A 11 or Allaines on the Aquitaine, the A10, and two other major axes: The old national 10 ( Chartres-Châteaudun) or the D954 (Chartres-Orléans) By train: From Paris-Montparnasse station, in one hour you arrive at Chartres station, From Chartres station, by….Voves From Paris- Austerlitz, in 55 mn you arrive in Toury, in 1 hour 30 in Bonneval and in 2 hours in Châteaudun! For the bravest, different stages can be studied by renting a bike from Chartres, Bonneval, Châteaudun or Orgères-en-Beauce.
