Blois and Chambord are the starting-point of your journey amidst the Loire châteaux. The château in Blois hosted ten queens and seven kings of France. Nowadays it is home to the town's fine arts museum. Closer to us in time, the Fondation du Doute, created by the artist Ben, hosts temporary creation spaces and exhibitions.
With your rental in the town centre as a base camp, go forth and enjoy your holidys with your family or friends on the banks of the Loire. Sports enthusiasts will enjoy the cycling trails that run along the banks of the river, leading them from one château to the next. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the variety of landscapes, from farmland to forests to the banks of the Loire.
If you're spending several days in your rental in Blois, you will no doubt attend one of the many cultural events the town has to offer, most notably the inauguration of the Place de la Résistance in July, with its water jets. In March you can enjoy the traditional carnival. During the summer months, the Des Lyres d'Eté festival proposes performing arts and other shows throughout the town's streets.
