The Grands Lacs Landais
Welcome to the north part of Les Landes, just south of the Bay of Arcachon and slightly set back from the beaches of the Atlantic Coast lie Biscarrosse, Sanguinet, Cazaux and Parentis beside huge stretches of fresh water.
The crystal clear waters bordered by fine sandy beaches and shaded by pine forests are a paradise for swimming, water sports, fishing and simply relaxing.
The Grands Lacs Landais offer a wide range of water sports including sailing, water skiing, paddle-boarding, boating and pedaloes, just choose the one that suits you best.
Parentis-Biscarrosse Lake
It covers 35km². Little harbours, sailing schools, water sport centres dot its shoreline. There are also pretty beaches (like Port Maguide) ideal for families with clear shallow water perfect for swimming.
Cazaux Sanguinet Lake
Further north, just south of the Bassin d’Arcachon and the Dune du Pyla, it is the second largest lake in France, covering 55km².
A paradise of greenery and pinewoods, bordered by cycle tracks, the lake is a haven of peace with a good choice of leisure activities. Plage du Caton at Sanguinet is the best-known beach.
