Ecoparc, Rocher des aigles (Rocamadour)
Raise your eyes towards the heavens ! Beauty is everywhere at Rocamadour. Watch birds of prey and others take to the skies from the amazing Rocher des Aigles against the splendid backdrop of the Alzou canyon.
Rocher des Aigles, a unique way to discover birds !
This unique bird park was opened over 40 years ago by Raphaël Arnaud, a passionate campaigner for the preservation of tropical rainforests.
Vultures, falcons and eagles
The Rocher des Aigles is home to around sixty species of birds. Watch the incredible skills of birds of prey in flight in a specially created show with emblematic scenes featuring kites, eagles, vultures, falcons, chimangos and an unforgettable skydiving display. Huge vultures with a 2.50m wing span glide more than 1,000m above the esplanade before, at a signal from the falconers, nose-diving back and walking over the outstretched legs of spectators ! The magical display and its live commentary are an exciting and informative introduction to birds of prey.
Another show is devoted to parrots. Marvel at a multicoloured whirling display by macaws, cockatoos, Amazon parrots and grey parrots. The two shows last about an hour in total.
The unique display of nocturnal birds of prey at Rocher des Aigles
At the end of the final show of the day there is an original 45-minute display featuring owls. This special time is an opportunity to meet these birds of the night, not always understood or appreciated by humans. Confident at night, but very timid during daylight hours, their reaction when faced with the unknown is not to attack but rather to flee or stay perfectly still in an attempt to blend in with the environment.
