Parc de loisirs et Music-Hall
"Alsace has no shortage of amusement parks for a day out with family or friends - children love them ! Whether in the water, in the treetops or on the ground, having fun in Alsace is a serious business ! Welcome to a world of fun, thrills and discovery.
We have to start with Europa-Park in Germany near the border with France which was voted best amusement park in the world 5 years in a row. It is the second-biggest theme park in Europe with an amazing variety of rides and thrilling attractions. The Mack family, roller-coaster builders, did not expect such a great success when they opened a park at Rust, near the Franco-German border, to display their products. In 2017, Europa-Park was the second most visited park in Europe with 5.7 million visitors, after Disneyland Paris and its 148 million visitors. With just over 2 million visitors, Puy du Fou, Parc Astérix and Futuroscope pale into insignificance !

Head for Montagne des Singes – Monkey Mountain – well, it makes a change from storks in Alsace ! Under the watchful eye of Haut-Koenigsbourg castle, the Parc de la Montagne des Singes is home to more than 200 Barbary apes. Visitors are always surprised how tame they are as they don’t hesitate to take popcorn from outstretched hands (popcorn is given to visitors at the entrance). Barbary apes rule OK !
