The PAL Theme Park and Zoo
The PAL, a theme park at the heart of the countryside near Dompierre-sur-Besbre
Opened in 1973, PAL is three parks in one : it is the only park in France to combine amusements, animals and unusual accommodation. The 50-hectare park offers educational activities and events. With 620,000 visitors in 2019, PAL is in the TOP 5 of theme parks in France and is currently the leading leisure venue in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. A great place to visit with family or friends, the amusement park provides fun and thrills for everyone while the zoo has 700 animals (elephants, lions, tigers, etc) in natural surroundings to maintain biodiversity.
Nature enthusiasts will love the diversity of animals from Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. The wide range of activities and events include the sea lion show, bird show, parrots, educational activities and feeding time.
There is no tarmac in the park, only a network of flowered-filled paths running through an extraordinary environment of over 1,500 plant species. A real breath of fresh air ! Visitors can observe the animals in vast surroundings resembling their natural habitat, another special feature of PAL.
PAL – responsibility and commitment
Visitors to PAL are invited to discover and understand animal biodiversity at a time when many eco-systems are under threat. Everything has been designed so that the animals can live in semi-liberty in a quality environment in keeping with their habitat in the wild. Wide-open spaces, lush, dense vegetation, natural additions (gym equipment; trees, rocks, waterfalls, vines), spacious night shelters, everything has been carefully studied to best meet all the animals’ needs.

PAL is also an amusement park with a wide choice of food outlets !
There is no shortage of amusements at PAL : each attraction has its own destination and atmosphere. Canada has a gold-prospectors’ lake, Louisiana has an alligator-bay and Africa has King-Kong… The 30 attractions are great fun and also provide a total change of scenery. There are amusements to suit all members of the family from toddlers to grandparents ! Have a day out at PAL - a unique outing for all the family in the Allier region !
If you feel a little peckish during your visit, don’t worry there are 7 different restaurants to choose from !
