La Loge des Gardes is situated at 1,100m altitude at the top of the Monts de la Madeleine and at the heart of the Foret de l'Assise national forest in the Allier region. The leisure resort has been in existence for 50 years and offers numerous activities for people of all ages in summer and winter, making it an ideal place to visit with family or friends !
Summer (early July – late August) fun activities include a zip wire cascade more than 500m long (running from tree to tree 9m above the ground in complete safety thanks to a continuous lifeline), all-terrain scooters (go up on a ski-tow then come down one of the 4 slopes), aerial tree slides, mountain boarding (going down a grassy slope on a giant skateboard), mini go-karts downhill, electric quad circuit for 6 – 12 years olds, bob luge (go down a grassy slope with 350m of bends aboard a bobsleigh), tubby (tubing on an artificial grass slope) and lots more… all this in beautiful surroundings with clean mountain air !

Jump Tower
Take the plunge and jump from a 6m or 8m board onto a giant mattress (100m² and 2m thick).
Children’s treetop adventure course and mini zip wire in total safety. Lots of obstacles suitable for little ones along the way.
X-Raycer : a new downhill vehicle with a lever to control braking and acceleration.
A huge, new zip wire, more than 200 metres long, completes the zip wire cascade.
In winter (beginning of January – beginning of March, depending on climatic conditions), the resort offers :
Downhill skiing : the resort has 3 ski-tows and a magic carpet moving walkway for beginners.
4 downhill pistes, green, blue and red.
Open space for beginners and experienced skiers so families and friends can ski together for a day or weekend.
2.2km of downhill skiing through spruce and beech woodland sheltered from the wind.
Cross-country skiing : La Loge des Gardes in the Forêt l’Assise has 21km of cross-country skiing pistes through spruce and beech forest.
Snowshoeing : Discover the snowy countryside of the Bourbonnaise wearing snow shoes. 600 hectares of national forest. A signposted circuit « le circuit des pierres » takes you through woodland to discover spectacular panoramic views of the mountains as far as the eye can see. Seasoned snowshoers can go orienteering : 4 different levels from 2.5km – 7km with around 20 markers.
As for ski equipment, don’t panic, everything can be hired from the local ski shop !
Luge : Off you go ! The slope is open to both children and grown-ups.
Snowboarding : For experts and non-experts !

La Loge des Gardes, in the northern Massif Central, is located between Vichy, Roanne and Clermont Ferrand, and can be reached along the A71 northbound from Clermont Ferrand, and the A77 southbound from Paris.
