Domaine de Vendresse - unique site of an old blast furnace
Discover a unique place in Ardennes which is a clever mix of nature, culture, history and a children’s adventure park. Spectacular fire and magical water ! Watch the stunning Son et Lumière at the site of the old 19th century blast furnace featuring a virtual show of iron being cast.
Shows last 20 minutes and start at 11.00, 15.00, 16.00 and 17.00.
For the magic of water, come and meet around 60 fresh water fish from Ardennes rivers in a gallery of 30 aquariums, including « Bebert » the famous giant sturgeon (1.70m – 30 kg) and children’s mascot ! In addition, there is a fun interactive exhibition about the world of water : fish, rivers, biodiversity and the uses of water. An outdoor touch pool is a fun way for youngsters of all ages to get very close to the fish. Sébastien, our aquarium specialist organises different activities every day. It’s the only one of its kind in the region. Don’t miss it !
The children’s adventure park has 4 different zones including a vast play park on fine sand for children aged from 2 to 14 with wooden play equipment, water cannon, a zip wire and lots more. Domaine de Vendresse is also a fishing venue with 3 fishing lakes. Sandra and Jacky welcome fisherman from March to the end of October. Trout fishing, ‘catch and release’ recreational fishing, catch your own trout.
Feeling a little peckish ?

The Brasserie du Haut-Fourneau is situated beside the big lake and next to the children’s play park. It offers main courses and desserts made from local produce : burgers, tartares, trout caught and cooked on the premises, children’s menu …
