Charming gîte 15 km from Chinon and Saumur, 1 km from Montsoreau and 5 km from Fontevraud Abbey. Set in an exceptional panorama with the Loire River as its landscape, the Confluence gîte offers you an expanse of water as far as the eye can see, ideal for contemplation and relaxation. The gîte's grounds run alongside the Loire for around 300 m, and from every room you can admire the incessant ballet of terns, seagulls and gulls, and enjoy unforgettable sunrises and sunsets over the confluence. You can do your shopping at the market that takes place every Sunday morning in the village square of Montsoreau (1 km from the gîte), and hunt for bargains on the banks of the Loire at the Puces de Montsoreau, held every 2nd Sunday of the month.
All-inclusive gite (excluding tourist tax). Magnificent, detached gîte adjoining the owner's house, with superb views of an exceptional site: confluence of the Loire and Vienne rivers. Ground floor: air-conditioned living room-kitchen (Canal+/Canal Sat/Netflix, telescreen, fireplace, wine cellar, Nespresso coffee maker). 3 communicating bedrooms, 2 of which also have outside access to the garden: 1st bedroom office (Rapido 140 sofa bed + desk/library), 2nd bedroom (160 bed), 3rd bedroom (2 90 beds, library, piano), shower room (+ wc), 2nd shower room, separate wc, linen room. James and Daniele made us extremely welcome in their beautiful gite at an amazing location at the confluence of the 2 rivers. We enjoyed our stay and visited numerous chateaux during our week's stay and we also found time to relax in the beautiful surroundings of the riverside. Thank you for the wine! frais Schöne Herbstwoche
Der Empfang durch das Gastgeber Ehepaar war sehr herzlich wie auch die Verabschiedung am Schluss. Wir hatten komfortabel Platz für uns sechs: 2 kleine Kinder und 4 Erwachsene, die sich zum einen in den drei Zimmern sowie den zwei Bädern gut verteilen konnten. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet und hatte von ihr und dem großen Esstisch einen hervorragenden Ausblick auf die Loire. Aufgrund des herbstlichen Wetters konnten wir zwar nicht die schöne Gartenterrasse benutzen, dafür aber den Kaminofen. Die Lage des Häuschens ist wunderbar zentral, so dass Markt und Geschäfte gut zu Fuß zu erreichen sind sowie die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Umgebung in maximal 45 Minuten mit dem Auto.
In der Summe war dies ein ganz toller einwöchiger Urlaub mit sehr hohem Erholungswert.

Ohne jede Einschränkung zu empfehlen: gemütliche Betten, gut eingerichtete Küche, privater Parkplatz, ein paradiesischer Garten mit Blick auf die Loire und sehr nette Vermieter. Jederzeit kommen wir wieder gerne zurück.

Michael Howard A very special gite
We had a wonderful two weeks. We have stayed in many Gite de France properties. Gite de la Confluence is probably the best.
The gite is very comfortable and very well equipped. Everything was spotlessly clean on our arrival. The furniture and bedding are of high quality and the gite has a premium feel. The location on the banks of the Loire is simply fantastic. There is a fantastic view from the terrace and the lovely peaceful garden has lots of places to sit out. The very friendly owners live next door and we appreciated their warm welcome and helpful advice.
The location is excellent. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance. In the surrounding area there are lots of interesting places to visit including numerous chateaux. We arrived home three days ago. This evening we have booked a return visit for next year.

TCutts Fantastic place to stay
We had a fantastic time staying at this property. The owners were wonderfully welcoming, providing us with a bottle of wine and a home-made gâteau. They gave us great advice about local events, and places to visit and good places to eat.
The property has everything you could possibly need indoors, and outdoors there are multiple options for places to sit, sip a glass of wine and watch the river drift by. There’s plenty of shade under a tree or under a parasol on very hot days.
The owners’ pet cat is very friendly!The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. Each of the two principal bedrooms has its own bathroom, so you don’t have to disturb each other in the middle of the night.
The kitchen is well appointed, has plenty of crockery, and is fitted with modern appliances. If you want to cook for yourself, you will be able to prepare pretty much anything in this kitchen.
For families, and for rainy days, the house has a variety of board games, both traditional and more current. There is a good selection of DVDs to watch, and satellite TV. We didn’t need this, since the weather was good, but it was great to see they were there.
The two neighbouring villages have a couple of very good restaurants, and a good boulanger. The small supermarket isn’t much good for anything other than emergency camping-style essentials. For a better supermarket you do need to drive 15 mins or so to either Saumur or Bourgueil.
If you have an electric car, which we do, the owners allow you the use of a dedicated outside outlet, for a very reasonable fixed price per week, but you will need to remember to bring your own “granny charger”, with a suitable French plug, to use it. This is a huge boon, since there aren’t many high speed public chargers in the area.
All in all this is a highly recommended place to stay, and I would come back again without hesitation!
