Carole & Xavier (sheep farmers practicing “traditional sustainable farming”) welcome you to a charming, authentic, and characterful 19th-century traditional Bresse farmhouse (of the “longère” type), which they have carefully restored themselves. It is nestled in a quiet at the end of a cul-de-sac in a small rural residential hamlet, on a vast 10-hectare agricultural and natural property that is home to their peaceful Suffolk and Charolais sheep (grazing just a stone’s throw away, living outdoors all year round!). Absolute peace and quiet, nestled on the edge of a vast plateau of fields and wooded meadows, in the heart of the unspoiled, bucolic Bresse countryside (partly protected within various ZNIEFF areas for its rich flora and fauna), not far from the banks of the Saône (a paradise for anglers and kayakers, a natural area protected as a “Natura 2000” site for its remarkable ecosystems), a magnificent landscape of gently rolling plains combining lush, wooded meadows dotted with ponds and rivers and vast stretches of wild forest, blending nature and agriculture.
