Christine opens the doors to an elegant 19th-century winegrower's house, steeped in history and lovingly restored to its former glory, nestled in the quiet heart of the bucolic vineyards of the renowned "Val Lamartinien" (made from Chardonnay grapes, named after the famous French poet, writer & politician who was a native of the area), in the gentle, rolling Mâconnais Countryside (protected by ZNIEFF & various "Natura 2000 zones" for its wealth of flora & fauna), in a peaceful, picturesque little winegrowing hamlet, perfectly preserved, full of charm, perched "on a balcony" on a south-east-facing hillside, in the heart of a magnificent landscape of rolling hills carpeted with vines and hedged meadows. Total peace and quiet nestled beneath the wooded ridges of the Mountain de la Rochette, home to a rare 7-hectare "Espace Naturel Sensible" ("Lande de Nancelle") adjoining a vast wild forest (to be explored on relaxing walks or mountain bike rides), on the "heights" of the charming, typical & commercial village of La Roche Vineuse, one of the few villages in Saône-et-Loire to have kept its revolutionary name, with numerous small shops and a rich heritage (elegant 18th-century "Renaissance" houses with lava roofs, washhouses & cadoles, 11th-century Romanesque chapel, "Carrières de la Lie" archaeological site listed as a Monument Historique...). Sublime landscapes and panoramic lookouts nearby. Spacious, comfortable Holiday cottage. Warm, contemporary country style. Soothing mix & match between tradition and modernity. Zen atmosphere. Washing machine + dryer in owner's laundry room (access from outside).
