L'Elixir

A stay in the heart of a former monastery, in a village listed as one of France's most beautiful villages. Located in the Pilat Regional Nature Park, the gîte can accommodate up to 14 people and is an ideal starting point for hiking trails.

Staying at L'Elixir means immersing yourself in a rare setting steeped in history, where ancient stones tell the story of centuries of monastic life. Today, St-Croix-en-Jarez is listed among the most beautiful villages in France and is recognized as a village of character in the Loire region. Just outside the holiday cottage, the village’s narrow streets reveal a remarkable heritage, while the trails of the Pilat Regional Nature Park invite you to escape into the heart of forests, ridges, and rolling landscapes. Hikers, mountain bikers, and nature lovers will find an exceptional playground here. Just a few kilometers away, the famous vineyards of Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie offer delightful culinary discoveries, while local producers showcase the region’s flavors. This vacation home in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is also an ideal starting point for exploring Lyon or Saint-Étienne. In this serene setting, everyone enjoys a warm welcome and an environment perfect for recharging. To let off some steam, a soccer field and Tennis court are nearby. And to treat yourself, there are two on-site Restaurants and a farm-to-table shop.

Housed in the former quarters of the Carthusian monks, L'Elixir occupies the first floor of a historic building in the heart of the village. This 150-square-meter holiday cottage offers spacious rooms perfect for gatherings with family or friends. The large, bright living area combines a cozy lounge space with a fully equipped kitchen. Each of the three bedrooms has its own bathroom and private toilet, ensuring comfort and privacy for everyone. The Myrtille bedroom sleeps two people with a large double bed. The Chartreuse Jaune bedroom features a double bed, two single beds, and two bunk beds. The Chartreuse Verte bedroom offers a double bed, two single beds, and an open loft with four additional sleeping spots. Wi-Fi, a TV, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a dryer, baby equipment, and a Telework area round out the amenities. A small garden also allows you to enjoy sunny days in a peaceful atmosphere.
A public parking lot is located 50 meters from the holiday cottage. Temporary access for unloading luggage is closed by an electric barrier that raises automatically. Please do not use this entrance even if you find it open. Please contact the information desk; only the staff are authorized to open the access barrier.
