Le Chastelard

Looking for a cocooning break in a secluded hamlet in the heart of the Ardèche chestnut forests? You've found the perfect place for a getaway combining nature and comfort.

The gîte Le Chastelard is located 6 km from the small tourist village of Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut, in the Eyrieux valley. On the heights of the Ardéchois landscape, leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind for a rejuvenating stay.

The accommodation is located in a typical hamlet built of local stone, where several dwellings, including the owner's, are grouped together. Parking is at the entrance to the hamlet, where a small alleyway and a few steps lead up to the entrance to your cozy cocoon (approx. 100 m).

You'll fall under the spell of this functional and beautifully decorated two-storey gîte. The living room on the ground floor has a fully equipped kitchenette, a dining table and a sitting area with sofa and connected TV. Heating is provided by the stove in the room (wood supplied). Upstairs, the staircase leads directly to the bedroom. This is furnished with a 140cm bed, a desk and a walk-in closet. There's also a shower room with walk-in shower and WC. Outside, there's a private garden on two levels and a covered terrace. The panoramic view is soothing.

A hiking trail runs through the hamlet, so you can easily set off to discover this unspoilt natural environment. Looking for a little excitement? Head for the Eyrieux valley, where you'll find local shops and markets, ideal for discovering local produce. Numerous festivities take place in summer or during the Castagnades (Chestnut Festivals organized by several villages in autumn). In summer, the Eyrieux river offers great swimming spots.

A comfortable stay: sheets and towels provided, beds made up on arrival and housekeeping included.
There's also a washing-machine room where you can store your bikes or hiking gear.
