The wolf lives in semi-freedom in the heart of the Forest of Chabrières, about forty in a natural environment are to be observed while walking in the animal park. He is gray, black or white, listen to his howls for some shivers of happiness.

If you’re looking for somewhere to go on a family day out, head for the Parc Animalier des Monts de Guéret, a super, reasonably priced animal park whose star attractions are wolves ! Around forty of these fascinating, mysterious animals live here in semi-captivity in their natural habitat at the heart of the Forêt de Chabrières forest. You can watch the grey, black or white animals and hear them howling as you walk around the animal park in the Monts de Guéret hills. A thrilling experience, full of surprises and emotion, in a wonderful atmosphere.

There are 2 different trails to follow in the park, a long one and a short one (we recommend you do both !) through the park, from enclosures to observation posts. The trails are around 1.5km and take about between 1¾ - 2 hours to walk. Walking conditions are easy, mostly in the shade and suitable for children, pushchairs and wheelchairs. It is a truly magical place and the trails are dotted with hidey holes and discreet observation posts where you can safely observe the wolves ! A few little info boards along the way explain basic things you should know about the various animals in the park. Animals include European grey wolves, Arctic wolves, black and white Mackenzie wolves, deer, wild boar, badgers, foxes, hens, geese, goats and a Vietnamese pig. Carry on through the woods to see other wild animals : stags, deer, wild boar, foxes. Take your time, retrace your steps, wander around, you may come upon a pack of wolves... the opportunity to observe, understand and learn about this mysterious predator.
A warm friendly welcome awaits visitors to the Animal Park which is a few kilometres from Guéret in the Limousin region. Chat to the keepers, go on a guided tour, visit the museum, get close to the wolves. A lovely place to enjoy the great outdoors in peaceful surroundings, typical of Creuse ! There is a projection room, a souvenir shop and a place selling drinks within the park, while just outside you will find a free car park and picnic area. Definitely not one to miss !
