The gardens of Valloires, in Argoules, stretch over 8 hectares at the foot of a Cistercian abbey, the only complete one in France. The gardens were designed by the famous landscape architect Gilles Clément, who created the Parc André Citroën in Paris. They feature over 5,000 species and varieties of plants.

The Hortillonnages
The hortillonnages are a natural setting right in the heart of the City, a bucolic stroll sure to charm lovers. They have contributed toAmiens' ranking asthe 7th greenest City in France, a title awarded by the Union Nationale des Entreprises du Paysage. Cultivated since the Middle Ages by the hortillons, these floating gardens form a 300-hectare mosaic enclosed by the arms of the Somme and Avre rivers.
