Religious Heritage CenterCluny Abbey
Cluny Abbey was founded in 910, and played an important political role, with famous abbots such as Richelieu and Mazarin. Following the Benedictine rule, the abbey served as a model for many monasteries in Europe, with its Romanesque church, whose vaults could reach 30 meters high. Most of the buildings were destroyed after the French Revolution.

At the top of a hill, discover Brancion, a small village where time seems to have stood still. Renovated by an association of enthusiasts, the City has regained its medieval character. Visit thechurch of Saint-Pierre, with its murals and modern stained-glass windows, and the château, built between the 11th and 12th centuries by the Dukes of Brancion and later the Dukes of Burgundy.
