Prom" for the people of NicePromenade des anglais
Hard to believe when you look at it today, this imposing promenade was no more than a modest dirt path in the early 19th century! From the mid-18th century, Nice was frequented as a winter resort by wealthy Englishmen. However, the British complained that there was no promenade along the Sea. The first section was built to make the Sea a pleasant place to stroll. Today, it stretches 7 km from the Airport to the port, and offers a wonderful way to discover Nice's coastline.
