L'Ecole

This gîte is housed in the former school of Prapic, a charming hamlet nestling at the bottom of the Drac Noir valley. The location of the l'École gîte is ideal for mountain lovers, as it is the starting point for many easy to very challenging hikes (Tombeau du poète, Plateau de Charnière, Saut du Laire, Col de Réallon, Dormillouse, Chateauroux-les-Alpes or Freissinières).
The entrance, on the square side, leads to the gîte via a staircase serving two other rarely-occupied units. The large entrance hall is ideal for storing your hiking gear, and features a wood-burning stove that provides the main heating for the entire gîte (wood supplied).
The living room opens onto a long balcony with a magnificent view of the Orcières valley. It features a sitting area (TV, DVD player and USB port) and communicates with a semi-open fitted kitchen. The entrance hall leads to two large bedrooms (the first with a double bed and two bunk beds, and the second with a double bed and a single bed), the shower room and the toilet. Private plot available, under the balcony, accessible from the outside (left side of the gîte). 1-2 parking spaces to the side of the gîte. Orcières village 4km, Orcières leisure center 5km and Orcières-Merlette ski resort 9km. On-site: 2 inns, an information point open in summer and the Musée de la Casse. Space heaters. Electricity not included. Good network coverage (3G and 4G).
