Gîte Lei Mendi

Located in the heart of the Ecrins National Park, in the hamlet of Ailefroide at an altitude of 1,500 m, Gîte Leï Mendi welcomes groups in an exceptional natural setting at the foot of the Pelvoux. This former family vacation center, built by the Gardanne miners between 1946 and 1951, has been completely refurbished to offer warm, functional accommodation combining authenticity and comfort.
The Holiday cottage has a capacity of 62 people, divided into 19 rooms of 2 to 7 beds, each with its own private bathroom.
There are two self-service kitchens, a large vaulted common room with a wood-burning stove, a lounge, a laundry room, a flexible meeting space and Wi-Fi access. Bicycle storage, a garden and ample parking are also available. The Holiday cottage is particularly suited to family reunions, training courses, seminars and group events.
There's plenty to do in the surrounding area. The region is a paradise for Hiking, climbing and via ferrata enthusiasts. In summer, families can enjoy summer tobogganing, tree climbing, archery, paragliding and white-water sports such as canyoning, rafting and canoeing. For a moment of relaxation, there are a number of Wellbeing centers (Spa, Sauna, Thermal baths) nearby, notably in Vallouise-Pelvoux and Puy Saint Vincent. The more curious can also discover the local heritage or take advantage of the Mountain Markets.
Holiday cottage Leï Mendi is open from early May to early October. It embodies the values of sharing and solidarity of social and Mountain tourism, in a grandiose, unspoilt environment. An ideal place to recharge your batteries, get together and enjoy an unforgettable collective experience.
