Many of the villages around the Gîte are well worth a visit, including Aspremont (winding road), Levens (colorful houses), Tourrette-Levens, Vence (old town with ramparts), St Paul de Vence, Eze... Take the time to visit Nice's old town (bus stop n°62 30m from the Gîte, then tramway), and take advantage of this enchanting setting to sample the specialties of Nice (socca, stuffed potatoes, porchetta, etc.). If you're feeling brave, climb up to the castle hill for a breathtaking view of the Baie des Anges.
For cyclists: discover the Promenade des Anglais in complete safety, on the cycle path from the port of Nice to Antibes. Other trails include one along the Var from the airport to the middle country (Carros). For hikers, there's no shortage of choice: easy circuits by the sea and sublime strolls in the mid/high country. And let's not forget the monuments, museums, archaeological sites, caves, galleries, exhibitions...
