Gîte des Douches

The Gîte des Douches offers a warm, cozy and comfortable interior with a large living room/kitchen and 2 bedrooms, ideal for 4 people. You also have access to a private sheltered garden across a small road. The gîte is located in the former working-class district of Port-Brillet, which is currently undergoing a transformation. Port-Brillet was founded at the end of the 19th century by a large iron foundry. The presence of iron ore and, above all, the forest and the pond were at the origin of this settlement, and today this small town has preserved its beautiful pond, which is ideal for canoeing, kayaking and fishing. You'll also find a remarkable heritage: cast-iron pumps and fountains, stained-glass windows in the church... The wooded areas and countryside are ideal for hiking. The gîte is 350 meters from the train station, on the Paris-Brest line. The town is within easy reach of Rennes, Le Mans and of course Laval. The town offers a full range of local shops and services, including a doctor, pharmacy, bank, mini-market and restaurants. What's on? Laval, with its castle, independent shops, restaurants, national theater scene and music festivals (Les 3 éléphants, le Chaînon manquant, les Nuits de la Mayenne...). This is the city of the famous painter Douanier Rousseau, but also the birthplace of Lactalis, the world's No. 1 dairy products company. Discover Lactopôle, the world's No. 1 dairy museum, which tells the story of dairy production with a modern scenography (workshops for adults and children). Professional stay: the 2 bedrooms can comfortably accommodate 2 people. All-inclusive rate: beds made, bathroom linen, kitchen linen, cleaning, electricity, heating: 1 bag of pellets/2 days (extra charge). Weekend stays: from Friday 4pm to Sunday 4pm. Stay 3 to 7 nights or more: arrival from 4pm - departure 10am.

The Holiday cottage comprises a fully-equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave, small electrical appliances) opening onto the living room (Internet, sofa and dining area). A few steps lead up to a shower room with shower cubicle, washbasin, hairdryer and WC. 1st floor: 1 bedroom 9m² with large closets and 1 bed 140*190 - 1 bedroom 7m² with 2 single beds 90*190 - 1 small living room with TV and sofa 6.3m². Mezzanine with no headroom and access by miller's staircase: 1 bed 90*190 (extra bed if needed).
North side: small courtyard with garage.
Private garden: crossing the narrow street, lawn and trees, with garden furniture, table, chair and deckchair. Barbecue.
Heating: pellet stove in living room - electric fluid radiators in bedrooms (heat from stove rises).
Included: Beds made on arrival - kitchen linen - towels - electricity - bag of pellets: 1 for 2 days (more to be paid by bag).
Baby facilities: high chair, Umbrella bed with mattress, potty.
Pets not allowed.
Parking: in the courtyard or alongside the house.
