For a simple stay in the heart of the historic village of Chéméré-le-Roi. The Côté Jardin gîte is on the first floor of a 19th-century building, opposite the town hall. You have access to the garden and a small terrace. You're at the gateway to the Sarthe and Sablé-sur-Sarthe (20 min.), and 30 min from Laval or Château-Gontier. Chéméré-le-Roi is a typical village, with marbled stone houses, ochre plasterwork and narrow, winding streets... With the Fraternité Saint Vincent Ferrier, Chéméré-le-Roi is a place for spiritual retreats. The village boasts two churches: one historic, probably dating from the XI-XII century, and a second inaugurated in 2018. Just 5km away, in the Coëvrons region, you'll find the Saulges prehistoric caves, with their entertaining museum retracing the occupation of humans and animals in prehistoric times, and their varied hiking trails offering exceptional views. Calm and relaxing nature. Also, at the end of the valley, the restaurant La Taverne des Grottes (Saulges), a bucolic address even for snacks!
