Come spend a vacation in a holiday cottage in the town of Puy-Notre-Dame. This home, carved directly into the tuffeau rock, invites you to enjoy a unique experience and admire its beautiful renovation, all while enjoying the comforts of a traditional holiday cottage. These cave dwellings, which are very common in the Anjou region, represent a historical and cultural heritage that is unique in France. Upon entering the holiday cottage, the central room features a dining area and a living room with a sofa, coffee table, and television. Adjacent to this room is a fully equipped kitchen. This vacation rental also includes a large bedroom with a 140-cm bed, a small bedroom with two 90-cm beds, a bathroom with a shower and vanity, and a separate toilet. From the living area, you can step out onto a small south-facing patio with outdoor furniture. On the level above, you’ll find outdoor seating for meals. Access to the holiday cottage from the parking lot is via a slope and a few steps. Your private outdoor area is enclosed by a gate and offers complete privacy. The owner’s house is located nearby, but your entrance and parking area are separate. The holiday cottage faces due south and maintains a comfortable temperature year-round. All rooms have windows and/or doors opening to the outside. You’ll appreciate how cool the cottage stays, especially in the summer. During colder periods, the central heating in every room will keep you cozy. You’ll be located 2.5 km from the Thouet River and the Vélofrancette bike route for cycling enthusiasts. There are plenty of nearby attractions: just 10 minutes away, Montreuil-Bellay and its 12th- and 15th-century castle; 15 minutes away, Doué-la-Fontaine and the Bioparc; 23 minutes away, Saumur with its champagne cellars, the Cadre Noir, the castle, and the Loire River... Not to mention the many wineries, vineyards, and picturesque villages of the Douessine region. Both holiday cottages can be rented together at the same address to accommodate 8 people.
