Situated in the heart of the Lys valley between Cholet, Angers and Saumur, the little gîte de la Gaucherie aux Dames is in the commune of Montilliers in Maine et Loire. Ideal for couples or families with children, this detached single-storey cottage is part of a complex that includes the owner's house and 2 other gîtes. The owners will be delighted to share with you the history of this former château turned farm, as well as their commitment to the social economy. The gîte comprises a living room with dining area, a fully-equipped kitchen (gas hob, microwave, oven, etc.), a bathroom with shower and toilet, a bedroom with double bed (140x190cm) and a sitting room with sofa and television, which doubles as a sleeping area with two single beds (90x190cm). In summer, you can enjoy the outdoor space with your own garden furniture, and stroll around the property, which also includes chambres d'hôtes and another gîte, to admire the view over the Lys valley (a small river that flows into the Layon and then the Loire) and discover the sheep and horses in the surrounding meadows. The ruins and moat (not secured) of the former château are also part of the landscape, as is a hiking trail.
