La Maison des Vignes

In the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional, between Saumur and Montsoreau, come and stay in this charming house surrounded by vineyards. Between the Loire and the troglodyte, in the small town of Turquant, you'll be ideally placed to discover the riches of the region: troglodyte houses, the Loire and its magnificent landscapes, winegrowing and the equestrian art of the Cadre Noir de Saumur. Completely refurbished in 2022, this gîte features a large, bright living room with a fully-equipped kitchen (induction hob, oven, fridge, etc.), a dining area and a living room with large picture windows overlooking the garden. On the first floor, you'll also find a toilet with washbasin, a shower room with walk-in shower, vanity unit and toilet, and a bedroom with a 160x200cm double bed. The other two attic bedrooms are located upstairs: one is 9m² and has a double bed 140x190cm, while the other is 5.5m² and has a single bed 90x190cm. Outside, you'll enjoy a private enclosed garden and large terrace in a quiet, pleasant setting overlooking the vineyards and the semi-troglodytic mill. The owners, who live next door to the gîte, will be delighted to tell you all about the history of this 16th-century mill, typical of the Anjou region. Don't forget your bikes and equipment: the Loire à Vélo cycle route is 2 km away, and there's a bike storage area. For your comfort, beds are made up on arrival and towels are provided. Just a few minutes from the gîte, don't miss the village of Candes Saint Martin, where you can admire the white tuffeau stone, or take a trip along the river on a traditional gabare. Take advantage of your stay at Turquant to recharge your batteries or discover the châteaux of the Loire Valley: the Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud is 5 minutes away, the Château de Chinon 25 minutes, and the châteaux of Villandry and Azay le Rideau 40 minutes.
