La Contrêche

In a quiet hamlet in the heart of the vineyards and close to the river Layon, this gîte adjoining the owner's house welcomes you for a stay as a couple or as a family. In the surrounding area, you'll enjoy hiking and biking through the Layon valley, as well as fishing and the many winegrowing estates. You'll also find it easy to reach the villages on the banks of the Loire, with their ever-changing landscapes: Chalonnes sur Loire, l'île de Béhuard, Rochefort sur Loire... On the ground floor, the living area features a small, fully-equipped kitchenette (2 gas rings, microwave, mini-oven, coffee maker, etc.), a dining table and a sitting area with sofa, TV and bay window overlooking the garden. Also on the first floor, the bathroom has a shower, washbasin and toilet. Climb 5 steps to reach the two bedrooms: the first with two 90cm single beds, and the second with a 140cm bed. Outside, you'll find an area with garden furniture and barbecue surrounded by hedges (the garden is not enclosed). The washing machine is located in the basement. Parking available in the courtyard. Approx. 30 minutes away: downtown Angers (museums, château and Terra Botanica park), Doué la Fontaine (zoo, rose gardens), the troglodytic village of Louresse Rochemenier. 40 minutes away: Saumur and its famous Cadre Noir or the Japanese garden at Maulévrier. Easy freeway access to the Puy du Fou show in just over an hour.
