Clos Romans

In the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional Anjou Touraine, 6km from Saumur, on the GR3 'la Loire sauvage à pied' and Loire à vélo itineraries, the Clos Romans gîte overlooks the Loire River on one side, offering a magnificent view of more than 10km from the hillside, and the Saumur-Champigny vineyards on the other, a vineyard covering more than 1,500 hectares between Saumur and Montsoreau. It opens onto a charming garden overlooking the Loire and incorporating the chevet of an 11th-century church. On the first floor, the gîte opens onto a bright living room with a fully-equipped kitchen, a sitting area with sofa, club chairs and TV, and a comfortable dining area. A bathroom with bathtub and separate toilet are also located on the first floor. Upstairs, you'll find two bedrooms: the first with two single beds 90 cm X 190 cm and the second (with a magnificent view over the vineyards) with a bed 160 cm X 200 cm. Outside, two splendid panoramic views: the first at the front of the gîte overlooks the Saumur vineyards, and the second at the back of the gîte the Loire valley and an 11th-century church. The view is breathtaking! Garden furniture, barbecue and deckchairs are at your disposal. If you're a keen walker or cyclist, the GR3 and the Loire by bike route pass right in front of this gîte in Parnay. Nearby attractions include the Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud (10 minutes), Monstoreau (8 minutes), Candes Saint Martin (9 minutes) and Saumur (10 minutes), with its château overlooking the Loire and the famous Cadre Noir. Along the Loire, you'll discover many castles, including Saumur, Chinon, Azay-le-Rideau and Langeais.
