The hamlet of St Joseph, at the foot of the Montagne Noire, comprises two comfortable gîtes and the home of the owners, retired farmers. The independent gîtes (ref n°G40 and G730) have been converted from a cowshed and a barn. A hectare of meadows surrounds the property, guaranteeing peace and quiet. A lovely swimming pool (11 m x 6 m) in the courtyard.
For sporting activities, the Montagne Noire offers hiking and mountain-biking trails, fishing in lakes and mountain streams, deep forests and the Lampy and Cammazes dams. Equestrian center at Dourgne, leisure center and water sports at St-Ferréol. For lovers of heritage and history, there's the Grand Site de Sorèze, the bastide town of Revel, the Rigole de Riquet (you're very close to the source of the Canal du Midi), which you can follow right up to the watershed in the Lauragais region, at the Naurouze threshold.
The gite was created in part of the former cowshed. Surface area: 120 m² on three levels. First floor: fitted kitchen, living room, storeroom, WC. 1st floor: bedroom (double bed 160x200), 1 bedroom with 2 single beds (90x190), shower room (Italian shower), wc. Second floor: bedroom (double bed 160 x 200) with shower room and toilet, small living room with sofa bed.
Reversible air-conditioning. Bed linen and towels provided (beds made up on arrival). Tiled terrace and barbecue for outdoor meals. The swimming pool, shared by the two gites (11x6 m, 1.70 m deep in the middle and 1.20 m on the edges), is fenced and equipped with an audible alarm. In the large shed, you can play table soccer and table tennis. Bicycles (large and small) are available for hire for pleasant rides.

Nous sommes arrivés à Dourgne en 1994 au bout d'une année de recherche. La naissance de Juliane à la quarantaine bien sonnée (on pourrait dire carillonnée - c'est plus joli) nous a fait faire le choix de la campagne. Nous sommes devenus agriculteurs. Michel était ancien marin reconverti dans le bâtiment, et Danièle commerçante (torréfactrice et puis encadreur(se?) de tableaux. Michel a été élu Maire de la commune voisine dès 1996. Nous sommes tous les deux retraités (très actifs)depuis 17 ans. Nous avons inauguré le premier gite " la baraque à paille " en 2000 et le deuxième " l'étable " en 2004. Nous venons de terminer la réfection de l'entrée sur la propriété et refait la façade de notre maison. Nous avons refait les façades des gites en 2022.

Le gîte est très agréable avec une belle piscine et de nombreux espaces de détente : petits coins lecture, repos, remise avec table de ping-pong et grande pelouse... un vrai paradis pour les enfants et les parents...

LOUEDEC Bonjour,
Ce séjour d'une semaine dans ce gîte
s'est parfaitement déroulé . Très bien situé pour des randos à moins de 25km.
Tout d'abord nous avons été très très bien accueillis par les propriétaires, prévenants, discrets et prêts à rendre service . Nous avons apprécié leur proximité, puisqu'ils résident à côté.
L'équipement de ce gîte est parfait. On s'y est senti comme à la maison . Et le grand terrain permet aux enfants et aux adultes de garder un petit moment pour soi.
L'équipement de loisirs est aussi très bien pensé et généreux, avec sa piscine , sa table de ping-pong, son baby-foot et ses vélos ont fait le bonheur des petits er des grands .
Le plus pour "les gens de la ville" : le poulailler avec ses dix poules.
C'est vraiment une location que nous recommandons . Vous serez enchantés !

Emma This was the loveliest Gite we have stayed in. The owners were delightful. Comfy clean spacious accommodation. Beautiful grounds. Excellent area for cycling holiday.
