Les rives de la Durenque

The Durenque flows down from the Monts de Lacaune, the hamlet of La Rive bridges the gap between plain and Mountain.

The Holiday cottage is built on a pre-17th century base. In its day, its role was to watch over the road that passed at its foot and crossed the Mountain Noire to link up with the Sidobre plateau. The Durenque river, which flows nearby, adds a touch of serenity to the site.
Hiking enthusiasts can explore the nearby forests, gather mushrooms and spot roe deer. By car, you can explore the Sidobre granite plateau, or step back in time to visit the medieval cities of Hautpoul and Carcassonne, the Episcopal City of Albi or, closer to home, Castres and its houses on the Agout river.

You'll enjoy the shared green space with the owner (they put their large garden at your disposal), which is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the flowers that adorn the vegetable garden.

The Holiday cottage is reached by a dozen or so steps, entering an airlock/veranda that leads to the kitchen and living area. Alternatively, you can access the Holiday cottage from the garage via a steep staircase. The Holiday cottage is located in a small hamlet (La Rive), adjoining the owners' home on one side. The Holiday cottage overlooks a small bridge over the Durenque river.

The simple comforts retain the soul of this old house, and Pierrette and André offer a warm welcome.
