On the heights of Lac de Fontbonne Gîte highlight: Monsec, in the heart of Ségala, overlooks Lac de Fontbonne

If you're a walker or a horse rider, or even a mountain biker, you'll have noticed that the gîte is situated on a hiking trail, leading to Fontbonne on one side, or the Viaur valley on the other. You're in a very hilly region, dotted with rivers and streams (isn't Ségala known as the Land of a Hundred Valleys?), a wooded and wild setting.

Supervised swimming and a wide range of sports and leisure activities are available at Cap Découverte, or at the Roucarié leisure park. You can also discover the Thuriès site and its castle ruins, located in the heart of the Viaur valley, where you'll find a rock-climbing wall, a picnic area and a canoeing area.

A remarkable heritage is just 20 to 40 minutes away: Albi (30 min by RN88), a Unesco World Heritage site, Cordes-sur-Ciel (France's most beautiful village), the thousand-year-old vineyards of Gaillac in 30 min, and in 20 min: Monestiès, Sauveterre de Rouergue.

**The Gîte**

This simple, comfortable gîte is located in the small hamlet of Monsec in the Ségala region of Tarn. You're at the end of a cul-de-sac in the hamlet, in absolute peace and quiet, surrounded by fields.
Situated on the first floor of an old farmhouse, it's self-contained and offers a magnificent view over Lake Fontbonne. Access via a wide, gently sloping stone staircase. From the large kitchen/dining room, you access a balcony overlooking the inner courtyard, where you can enjoy your meals in the coolness of the old stones and use the barbecue. The kitchen also leads to a small living room. Well-equipped kitchen: dishwasher, gas stove, electric oven, mini-oven, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, pressure cooker, fridge (with freezer compartment).

Bedrooms: Three large bedrooms, each with a 140x190 bed. One with 1 additional 90x140 bed. Bathroom with walk-in shower, separate toilet. Oil-fired central heating.
