Just fifteen minutes from Albi, you'll discover an area branded with a fascinating industrial history. The former open-cast coal mine at Carmaux has given way to Cap Découverte, an immense natural amphitheatre 1,300 metres in diameter, entirely converted into a Base de loisirs. This site, the only one of its kind in Europe, combines sporting activities, relaxation areas and cultural venues such as the Maison de la Musique. Visitors curious to learn more about the life of the miners can complete their discovery by visiting the Museums de la Mine, a must-see to understand the epic story of the coalfield.
It's in this varied environment that Édith and Raymond have set up two Holiday cottages in Cap de Vère, adjoining their home but not facing each other. Holiday cottage des Bignones opens onto a pleasant courtyard and garden, a setting that invites you to take full advantage of the outdoors. A table and barbecue are available for al fresco meals, while the large 12 x 6-meter swimming pool, open from June to September, is a real pleasure to share.
The first floor features a living room that opens onto the fully-equipped kitchen, making it easy to organize meals and creating a convivial space where you can gather at the end of the day.
Upstairs, the Holiday cottage offers two comfortable bedrooms designed to welcome families or friends with ease:
- Bedroom 1: one 140cm bed
- Bedroom 2: two 90cm beds
A bathroom with toilet completes this level.
The estate's pets - a dog and a cat - add to the family atmosphere, much appreciated by holidaymakers. Heating is available at an additional cost, depending on the season, a useful feature if you're staying outside the summer season.
With its mining heritage, varied leisure activities and proximity to Albi, this Holiday cottage is an ideal base from which to discover an authentic facet of the Tarn, while enjoying quiet, well-designed and pleasant accommodation.
