Le Rivel

The family home in Le Rivel has been converted into a vacation home—a completely self-contained holiday cottage—located halfway between Toulouse and Albi, ideal for a peaceful getaway with family or friends

Located just outside the charming village of Giroussens, at the gateway to the Gaillac Vineyard. Giroussens, a former 13th-century bastide built around a castle overlooking the valley, prospered thanks to the pottery workshops established at the edge of the Forest, which benefited from a privilege granted to residents to gather wood from the Forest to fuel their kilns. Remarkable pieces from this local industry are on display at the Giroussens Ceramics Center.

At Le Rivel, everything is designed for a peaceful vacation: high-quality services, spacious rooms, a beautiful terrace for pleasant summer evenings, and a huge garden—not to mention the covered bocce court and the lovely Piscine, all just for you! ... and since 2026, all the upstairs bedrooms as well as the one in the annex have been air-conditioned... (the ground floor, however, is not air-conditioned)

Opposite the front door is a courtyard with a granite table in the shade of plane trees, perfect for outdoor meals. On the south side, the kitchen opens onto a large terrace where you can admire the Agout Valley and the village of Saint-Lieux below.
A variety of trees (holm oaks, downy oaks, field maples, and umbrella pines) have been planted across 4,000 m².

** THE HOLIDAY COTTAGE **
- Living room with a TV and a fireplace to make your winter evenings more enjoyable
- Beautiful kitchen with a dining table equipped with a full-size refrigerator-freezer, a Senseo® pod coffee maker and a drip coffee maker, 2 toasters, a microwave, a kettle, an oven, dishwasher, raclette/pierrade set, immersion blender, and electric mixer.
Behind the kitchen, a laundry room with a sink, washing machine, and cleaning supplies
- Four large bedrooms:
- each equipped with two 90x190cm beds
- one bedroom is located on the ground floor of the holiday cottage, next to the living room
- three bedrooms are located on the upper floor of the holiday cottage
- A bathroom with a double sink, shower, and bathtub located on the ground floor. Separate toilet on the ground floor
- A second bathroom located upstairs with a sink and bathtub. Separate toilet upstairs


** The Annex **
Accessible from the outdoor terrace, the annex complements the holiday cottage.
It consists of a small living area with a kitchen (oven, sink, filter coffee maker, etc.) as well as a dining table for two people and a television.
Upstairs is the fifth bedroom with two single beds (90x190 cm) and an adjoining bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet.


OUTDOOR AREAS:
Several terraces enhance the holiday cottage:
- South-facing terrace overlooking the Agout Valley and the village of Giroussens; equipped with a charcoal grill and a gas grill/plancha. Part of the terrace is covered
- The small terrace of the Annex
- North-facing terrace, which is cooler and therefore appreciated on hot days, featuring a ping-pong table and a foosball table. There are also 10 bicycles available for you to explore the area around the village of Giroussens
The Play Area: equipped with lighting for evening use, located a few meters from the holiday cottage in the garden. It’s the perfect spot for a game of badminton, setting up some basketball hoops, or even playing a game of pétanque!
The Piscine measures 11 x 5 m with a depth ranging from 0.90 cm to 1.70 m. There’s a sun deck and an outdoor shower.
