The spring is there, in the little wood, and feeds the lake, a veritable oasis of freshness, where frogs and trout flourish.

Two rural gîtes are hidden away here, the Bonnefon gîte (Ref. G414) right next to the lake, and the Carretou (Ref. G489), a little further on, behind the wheat field. Both houses are typical of the Cordes plateau, all in white stone, and very cool in summer. Peace and quiet will enhance your stay, in pretty countryside, between vineyards and cereal fields.

Discover the Pays des Bastides, the medieval city of Cordes-sur-Ciel, the Gaillac vineyards and their welcoming producers, Albi and its Episcopal City, a Uneso World Heritage site. Or more simply, you can fish in the lake, stroll along the surrounding paths, enjoy the swimming pool (one private pool per gîte) or ask for the key to visit the Roumanou church.



** GITE **
Detached house at the end of the road, 300 meters after the Bonnefon gîte (reference G414 on Gîtes de France). Large, totally private swimming pool (9.5x4 m, depth 1.20 to 1.80 m), wooded courtyard.

- The large, fully-equipped kitchen is on the first floor, overlooking the terrace and pool. The living room is to the right of the entrance, with sofa and TV. WC under the stairs.
- Upstairs are three bedrooms, a bathroom (bath), and a shower room with toilet. Two bedrooms each have a double bed (140cm), the third has two single beds (90cm).

Central heating. Baby equipment. Heating with Godin wood-burning stove.

    The stay in Cestayrols in the house of Jean Michel was even better than expected. The house was well equipped, comfortable and cosy. The heated swimming pool allowed us to swim even if it was only 16 degrees outside. Jean Michel is very friendly and always available to assist when needed. Would definitely recommend this place.

    Très bon accueil.
    Gîte très reposant et calme.
    Nous avons profité au maximum d'une piscine agréable et d'un environnement de petites forêts de chênes.
    Dès l'accueil et le verre de la bienvenue accompagné d'une caisse de légumes du jardin et de superbes melons délicieux.
    Nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances.
    Merci Mr Durand pour tout c'est bons moments de dégustation.

    Mr Durand was most hospitable despite our lack of French. The gite was well equiped and peaceful and we had a good time.

    We spent 2 wonderful relaxing weeks with our 3 children in this house. It is very quietly situated, so you can really relax. The large swimming pool is really great! You can swim here with your children and dry off on the terrace or seek shelter on the sheltered part of the terrace under the trees. The house itself is very spacious and typically French cozy. With the thick walls and wooden shutters in front of the windows, most of the heat stays outside. The French owner is very nice and friendly and we enjoyed the fresh vegetables from the vegetable garden behind the house, which he occasionally brought. The landscape is beautifully rolling with sunflower fields and vineyards. But also several beautiful rivers and the more wooded and mountainous area less than 30 minutes away. Many beautiful old towns and villages.
