La roulotte du tonnelier

A lovely wooden caravan for 2 people, at the foot of Castelnau-de-Montmiral, with a built-in Spa on the terrace and air conditioning in case of hot weather. Throughout his working life, my grandfather, Gabriel Rignac, was the village cooper of Castelnau-de-Montmiral, while my grandmother Ida - helped by Eulalie, my great-grandmother - worked on the farm "la Frayssinette" with barnyard animals, cows, cereals and, of course, vines.

When he retired in 1975, my grandfather set up his workshop on the Farm, to maintain and repair the barrels and comportes on the estate, as well as those belonging to his former customers and friends. Today, it's me, Aline, his granddaughter, and Christophe, my husband, who have reinvested the premises to give them a new and beautiful life.

Our gypsy caravan is located on the site of the former château des Mazières tenant farm, built in 1750, at La Frayssinette in Castelnau-de-Montmiral, a bastide classified as a Remarkable Heritage Site. A pleasant, relaxing stay awaits you in the Countryside, overlooking the village and surrounded by fields, woods and meadows.

Located on the "circuit des bastides" and in the heart of the Gaillac vineyards, close to the Forest de la Grésigne and 30 km from Albi, you'll be ideally placed for Hiking, cycling and discovering all the treasures of our beautiful region. In the evening, after relaxing in the Spa, you can sometimes hear the deer chattering from wood to wood during the aperitif.
