La Baraque à Paille

At the foot of the Montagne Noire

The hamlet of St Joseph, at the foot of the Montagne Noire, comprises two comfortable gîtes and the home of the owners, retired farmers. The independent gîtes (ref n°G40 and G730) have been converted from a cowshed and a barn. A hectare of meadows surrounds the property, guaranteeing peace and quiet. For a refreshing swim, there's a lovely 11 m x 6 m swimming pool in the courtyard.
For sporting activities, the Montagne Noire offers hiking and mountain-biking trails, fishing in lakes and mountain streams, deep forests and the Lampy and Cammazes dams. Leisure center and water sports at St-Ferréol. For lovers of heritage and history, there's the Grand Site de Sorèze, the bastide town of Revel and the Rigole de Riquet (you're very close to the source of the Canal du Midi), which you can follow all the way to the water divide in the Lauragais region, at the seuil de Naurouze.

La Baraque à Paille, independent gîte. First floor: living room with fully-equipped open-plan kitchen (complete with appliances), shower room. Upstairs: double bedroom (140x200cm double bed), bathroom (bath) with toilet, and on the landing a large children's area with two 90cm single beds and a BZ sofa. Reversible air-conditioning (heat pump) upstairs and downstairs, wood-burning stove (wood supplied).

Bed linen and towels provided (beds made up on arrival). Terrace, garden furniture, barbecue for outdoor meals. The saltwater swimming pool (11 x 6 m, 1.70 m deep in the middle and 1.20 m deep around the edges) shared by the two gites is fenced in. In the large shed, you can play table soccer and table tennis. Bicycles (large and small) are available for hire for pleasant rides.
