Built in the 19th century, this bourgeois house with its exceptionally well-preserved slate roof is as appealing for its location overlooking the Dordogne River just below as it is for its interior design and authentic, cosy furnishings. Right in the heart of a village listed as one of France's most beautiful, we love the terrace covered by a pergola and wisteria, from which we have an exceptional view of the village castle! Inside, we love the large open spaces, bathed in light, and approved by top-quality fittings and decor, the perfect blend of modernism and respect for the old! We can already imagine moments of relaxation and sharing...in this place of undeniable charm...a place out of time in enchanting surroundings...a real coup de coeur!
A few steps lead up to the entrance hall, a lounge area with table and chairs and two armchairs, and then up a few steps to the laundry room (sink, washing machine) which opens onto a 3m² balcony terrace. 1st floor: lounge area (sofa, armchairs, TV, wood-burning stove) leading to a shaded 18m² terrace with garden furniture, sunbathing area, relaxation area and barbecue, followed by a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area and relaxation area (all totally open-plan). 2nd floor: 2 attic bedrooms (2 x 160cm beds, one of which can be converted into 2 x 80x200cm Kids beds), bathroom (2 basins, Italian shower, bath, WC). Wifi access. Pellet central heating. Free private parking for 2 cars.

C'était en 1997.... Passionnés d'architecture, d'histoire et de nature, nous avons eu un coup de coeur, il y a plus de 20 ans pour "ce petit coin de paradis" comme le dit si bien Fénelon dans son ode à Carennac. Les bâtisses du moyen-âge, le chateau, le prieuré et la Dordogne créent un écrin de charme autour de nos deux gîtes dont la rénovation à durée de longs mois. Depuis 10 ans, nous y vivons définitivement au rythme des saisons et de nos passions que sont la peinture pour moi, la pêche et le jardinage pour mon Mari. Vous accueillir dans ce lieu idéal pour se retrouver en couple, en famille ou entre amis, est un véritable bonheur pour nous. Et l'occasion de partager avec vous nos nombreux coups de coeur dans cet endroit foisonnant de sites spectaculaires baignés dans une nature généreuse. Entrez, vous êtes chez vous !

La maison est tres bien située, la vue sur le village est vraiment la plus belle vue qu’on puisse avoir! La maison est en plus tres bien équipée.
Les hôtes sont très sympathiques et vous aident bien dès qu’il y a un problème.
Bref, un séjour inoubliable !

Maminou Exceptionnel !
Emplacement exceptionnel permettant d’avoir une belle vue à la fois sur Carennac et sur la Dordogne. Une terrasse très confortable permet de se reposer et de prendre ses repas. Joli intérieur bien conçu et équipement haut de gamme. La propriétaire nous a accueillis avec beaucoup de gentillesse et s’est fréquemment intéressée au bon déroulement de notre séjour. A recommander sans retenue!

Our six night stay in this beautiful cottage was fabulous!
The cottage itself is superb - well equipped with comfortable and elegant carefully curated furnishings and it is equipped with all appliances etc you would expect to find in a "real home". It's location couldn't be better - with views of the town and the river.
Having a car park is also a big plus since parking in a small village like Carennac can be challenging during the day - it was great to return home any time of day and know parking wouldn't be an issue.
Sylvie's greeting at the property was warm and she made us feel very welcome and gave us many helpful insights and tips that made our visit to the Dordogne villages very enjoyable. She was also extremely responsive when we had a couple of questions over the course of the stay.
Overall we can't rate this cottage highly enough and we will certainly come stay again when we're lucky enough to visit the beautiful region again.
