At Pech Rasquet, peace and quiet are guaranteed! Immersed in the heart of nature on the Causses, you'll discover the diversity of flora and fauna and the starry sky. The ideal place to get back to basics! For Hiking enthusiasts, you're close to one of the Compostelle pilgrimage routes and, for the more adventurous, the paragliding runway (1km). In Cajarc (5km), with its restaurants and small stores, you can go canoeing, pedal-boating and caving. Ideally located near Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, one of France's most beautiful villages, and not far from the Aveyron (6km) to discover the many landscapes, villages, rivers and castles that surround you! The outdoor area around the Holiday cottage includes a private swimming pool (10 x 5, gently sloping, 1.20 to 1.80 m deep) secured by a low wall, gate and alarm, with sun loungers, parasols and shower. Towards the Holiday cottage, you'll find garden furniture, a hammock and a pétanque court. The Holiday cottage is a recently and totally renovated 18th-century building, with a 24 m² attic living room and sitting area (stove not usable) leading onto a terrace with table, armchairs and parasol. The entrance door opens onto the dining area, and the recently fitted kitchen is well equipped and integrated. The bedrooms can be accessed from the living room on the second floor (staircase) or from outside via French windows with shutters: 1 master bedroom (1 x 160cm double bed) with en-suite shower room (shower, washbasin, wc), and laundry area (washing machine, freezer); 1 bedroom (2 x 90cm single beds that can be made into a 180cm double bed) with en-suite bathroom (washbasin, small bathtub, wc). Electric heating and wifi access. Common enclosed grounds of 3.25 hectares, gently sloping and surrounded by low walls and fencing. The owners' house is on the same property, but is not overlooked (not always the case).

Nous sommes arrivés à Pech Rasquet, il y a cinq ans. Après rénovation complète, nous sommes heureux de pouvoir vous accueillir dans ce merveilleux coin du Lot sur les Causses. Nous sommes passionnés de cette region et aussi de l'Aveyron pour son paysage, son histoire et ses monuments et gastronomie. Ayant vécus et travaillés dans plusieurs pays d'Europe et au delà, nous nous sentons bien à Larnagol. Notre intention est de vous donner l'opportunité d'apprécier cette region encore authentique.

tomsk Beautiful, relaxing place to stay in the hills
We had a wonderful stay at Au Pech Rasquet - a remarkably peaceful and relaxing place up in the hills near Larnagol, with beautiful walks through stunning countryside all around. The house itself is very comfortable and well outfitted - the kitchen in particular is exceptionally well equipped for a holiday home and meant we could confidently cook much more complex things than are usually possible.
It is also well designed to cope with the very hot conditions of the southern French summer, with thick walls and shuttered windows. Even when the temperature became really excessive over the first few days of our stay, the old stone building stayed tolerably cool, and the lovely swimming pool was also a big help in keeping the kids happy.
Pascale and Stephen are wonderful hosts - kind and friendly, but also relaxed and unassuming - and they did everything possible to make sure we had a super holiday. This included some great suggestions for places to visit that took us away from the crowded tourist spots, including directing us to the astonishing prehistoric rock art of the Pech Merle caves and a variety of local markets where the best fruit and veg can be had - the flat peaches may the best fruit I've ever eaten!The area is incredibly beautiful, a landscape of alternating oak-covered limestone plateaux and deep river valleys. There are several beautiful towns, including Cajarc which has plenty of food shops including a top-quality minimarket, a traiteur and two bakers, as well as a regular small street market (Particularly recommend 'La Pause' restaurant with its fantastic value two-course dinner for €12.)
Overall we had a great time and would absolutely recommend Au Pech Rasquet to anyone wanting to go to the Causses du Quercy region - an area we hope to return to in future.
(NB if you go, I advise reading and following the directions you'll be sent. Don't just blindly trust Google maps, which will send you along dirt tracks through receptionless wooded valleys.)

Pollyanna Un merveilleux séjour !
Les propriétaires ont été des hôtes adorables. Pascale fait le maximum pour rendre le séjour agréable, la gentillesse et les sourires sont toujours présents. On a envie de garder cette adresse pour nous tellement on s'y sent bien. Je recommande ce gîte les yeux fermés. Les prestations sont de qualité, la maison est très jolie et confortable,l'environnement est sublime. Comme le dirait un acteur connu, que demander de plus ?

Pour tous ceux qui rêvent de voir le bras d'Orion (la Voie lactée) dans toute sa splendeur et son intégralité, c’est l'endroit rêvé. Aucune pollution lumineuse, c'est le moment de sortir vos cartes du ciel et vos télescopes!
Et en plus la piscine est magnifique et les propriétaires sont vraiment adorables. Nous y avons passé un excellent séjour.

Benjamin Un havre de paix au milieu du Lot
Nous cherchions un lieu de repos, perdu dans la campagne authentique et de calme total avec nos deux fils Charlie et Basile de 7 mois et 4ans...nous avons été servis !
Un accueil incroyable et plein de petites attentions de Pascale pour nous et nos enfants, une maison typique très entretenue, d'une propreté irréprochable, des lits très confortables, un jardin... non un parc dans les Causses rien que pour nous, des chevreuils, des mures pour faire de la confiture, un ciel étoilé marié à une splendide Lune, enfin un silence impérial.
Poser son hamac entre deux chênes et vous vous reconnecterez à la nature.
J'espère cependant ne pas vous donner trop envie de venir pour que je puisse m'y ressourcer encore en famille !
