Unique ! For an atypical stay on the famous Canal du Midi, in the heart of the Lauragais region, between Toulouse and Carcassonne, come and discover the Péniche Dondon!
Moored at the Emborrel lock, in the commune of Avignonet-Lauragais, the Dondon barge has everything to please you!
Only 1.5km from the village where you will find a bakery and small grocery shop, post office and train station.
From the barge, you have immediate access to the canal towpath, on foot or by bike, and some sites are accessible by car or by the canal cycle path; Pilgrims of Saint-Jacques, cyclotourists... you will find the ideal stopover!
Karoline even offers breakfasts (or lunch/picnic boards) on request! The only drawback is that the canal runs parallel to the A61 motorway, which you can hear at 200m when you are outside (it is absolutely quiet inside) :)



Parking in front of the barge. A small staircase leads from the bank to the barge. Warm barge that can accommodate up to 6 people.
You enter the captain's cabin, fitted out as a fully equipped kitchen, a few steps lead down to the living room with a low table that can be lifted up to eat inside, the master bedroom (1 king size bed for 2 people 160x200), a small bedroom (2 bunk beds for 1 person 90x190), a shower room, a toilet/laundry room. Possibility of extra bed in the living room for 2 people.
Reversible air conditioning, pellet stove. WIFI Internet connection.
Terrace on the deck of the boat (deckchairs...), dining area on the bank and small area for drinks, smoking, coffee... in front of the barge.
Animals not allowed. No baby facilities.


The price includes: water, subscriptions, cooking gas, electricity, heating, air conditioning, pellets for the stove, sheets, towels, household linen (tea towels, potholders), end of stay cleaning.



Privileged view of the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage site, from where you can explore the Lauragais region, rich in history and heritage: Port-Lauragais 3 km away (bike hire, discovery area, shop selling local produce), Naurouze threshold, swimming at the Ganguise lake, Revel 25 km away (remarkable market under the market hall on Saturday mornings), Saint-Ferréol lake 28 km away (swimming and water sports)... Toulouse and its many attractions are only 40 km away, easily accessible by motorway in 12 min, all shops and restaurants are 7 km away.
